How to Extract Images From Google Slides
1. Selecting a Google Slides file:
To select a Google Slides file you can:
- Click the file section box and select a file from your local drive
- Drag and drop your Google Slides file into the file section box
2. Scanning your Google Slides file for images
Once a file is selected, press the “Scan Document” button to start scanning the file for included images. Once the scanning process is complete, a list of found images will be displayed along with a thumbnail and the file name of each image.
3. Selecting Images for Download
Select the images you wish to extract and download from the Google Slides file by checking the checkbox of the desired image or images. You can also use the Select All and None buttons at the top of the displayed results for quick bulk actions.
4. Download Images From Google Slides Scan Results
Once all the relevant images are selected, click the “Download” button at the bottom of the results page to download the images to your local drive. If you select more than one image file, a zip file containing all of the selected images will be created automatically and downloaded to your computer.

Alternative Ways To Save An Image From the Google Slides
Although Google does not offer a direct way to save images from Google Slides, there are 4 methods that you can use to extract images from slides:
Method 1 – Copy and Paste the image from the slide
Open your presentation in Google Slides and Select the image you wish to extract. Right-click the image and select “Copy”. Now the image is copied to your device’s memory and can be pasted anywhere you wish, including another slide, presentation, or Google Docs document.
Remember that you may not be able to paste the image to external applications such as Photoshop.
Method 2 – Saving the Image to Google Keep
Open your presentation in Google Slides and Select the image you wish to extract. Right-click the image and select “Save to Keep”. You will see your image on the sidebar and will be able to access it from Google Keep Notes. Inside Google Keep Notes, you can select the image to copy, download, or share your image depending on the device.
Method 3 – Download the Google Slide With the Image
Open your presentation in Google Slides and Select the slide you wish to download (the slide containing the image). Click the “File” menu and select “Download”. In the sub-menu with download options, you can choose to save the current slide in JPEG, PNG, or SVG formats.
Remember that the entire slide will be saved as an image and you’ll need to crop the slide image if you only wish to save the specific image you need.
Method 4 – Manually Extract Image From Google Slides File
Open your presentation in Google Slides. Click the “File” menu and select “Download”->”Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx)” to save the presentation on your local device. Rename your presentation file from .pptx to .zip extension. Extract the renamed .zip file to access all the internal files of the presentation. Now you can search for any image files within the extracted content. In many cases, you will find the media files stored under the “ppt/media” folder.
